‘Sustaining a Healthy Future’ examines the impact of climate change on health and includes information on sustainable policies and recommended tools to support the development of sustainable transport and the built environment.
The NHS is the largest single organisation in the UK, representing on average 10% of
regional economies in England alone. Its purchasing power is vast – with an annual
budget of around £17 billion. The NHS is therefore in a powerful position to lead the
sustainable development agenda.
